Essential Job Functions
  • Acts as a liaison between development staff and Technical Manager.
  • Facilitates and participates in meetings throughout the project life cycle such as project planning, UX, system design, Joint Application Development, and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Works with the customer and project team to develop and manage a balanced project plan.
  • Develops the project Work Breakdown Structure at a level of detail appropriate to the project
  • Develops the resource-loaded project schedule in MS Project in accordance with customer or other constraints to establish milestones and a cost basis of estimate
  • Actively manages project control and execution. Updates the Project schedule regularly with actual cost and schedule status. Analyzes and manages cost and schedule variance against the baseline.
  • Conducts assessments and evaluations of project performance and quality through the independent analysis and interpretation of objective and subjective evidence (including project status reports, quality assurance and configuration management audit results), and through direct discussion with project team members.
  • Manages the project close-out process.
  • Establishes credibility at all levels in the client organization to ensure project continuity and to enhance future business opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree in business administration, mathematics, engineering, management information systems, computer science or related field preferred
  • Five or more years of experience in quality assurance, engineering or management information systems
  • Experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting knowledge; agile methodologies will be a plus
  • Experience of Agile development methodologies including Scrum
  • Experience working with project management principles, policies, and procedures; knowledge of project scheduling and the use of standardized scheduling tools and use of project estimating tools and techniques; Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience working with standard software development methodology assessments
  • Experience working with current business trends that are relevant to company and client
Other Qualifications
  • PMI PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
  • 5-7 years of direct experience as a Project Manager in an IT/IS capacity
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to adapt and succeed in leading an existing team; Must be able to maintain a cohesive group and a collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable interfacing with on-site customer on a regular basis
